Dear Mr. Kozer Where are you?

Mr. Kozer came to teach at my school, I was in the sixth grade in my little small town school. Recalling as a young girl my self esteem had hit rock bottom, reading and writing was something that I couldn't do, feeling like I had to cheat to get everything right.

I still remember trying to read out loud in front of the rest of the class and I couldn't.

Then this hippy, long haired man, first male teacher I ever had worked with me one on one till I could read on my own. He had no special training with dyslexia, but he helped me overcome it. Working hard and by the end of sixth grade, I could read out loud and on my own. And was truly feeling better about middle school ahead.

This story is because he believed in me, and cared enough to try and teach, a child like me that learned differently.

Years have passed, never to see him again so this is a shout out to the man who paved my life.

If our lives or paths hadn't crossed, I often wonder what would have become of me.

The appreciation that I could function and read now was a blessing thanks to Mr. Kozer.

So, as for teachers, he has always rated at the very top of my list, and probably doesn't know that he actually helped me, He probably just thought it was his job.

Dear Mr. Kozer, Thanks for all you did, Thanks for building up my self esteem, and really thanks for helping me graduate school… You will never be forgotten in my book.
